Since starting in the games industry in 1996 I have developed my career in both the games and post production fields and I am currently senior lighting artist working on marketing materials on "Block'n'Load" for Jagex Games in Cambridge.
 

I am multi-disiciplined and can build 3d models (high and low-poly), light characters and environments (realtime and pre-rendered), work from a tight brief or a create my own idea, build physically based shader networks (realtime and pre-rendered), unwrap models and create textures in both realistic and cartoon styles

 

I believe that my strongest skill lies with lighting, rendering and look development.

I have used Maya, 3ds Max, Unreal Engine 4, CryEngine, Unity 5, Substance Designer, World Machine, Vray, Mental Ray, Zbrush, After Effects, Fume FX, Rayfire, Photoshop, and many others. I am also used to quickly learning in-house tools

 

In 2012 two shows I worked on were nominated for awards

Planet Dinosaur and Inside The Human Body


"Planet Dinosaur" was nominated for a Bafta, and "Inside The Human Body" was nominated for a Bafta, an Emmy and won a Visual Effects Society Award and both won the New York Festivals gold medal. A full list of award and nominations are under the Awards section of this site

 

Alongside my current employment as senior lighting artist at Jagex Games I'm also developing my own Virtual Reality projects using the Oculus Rift CV2 and Unreal 4
