Paul Herbert Lighting artist and 3d generalist

About me
I started in the games industry in 1996 and have worked in both games and post production since then.
I can work as a generalist as I have worked for several years as an environment artist and can model, unwrap, generate texture maps and build physically based shader networks for props and scenery. But my real passion is for lighting, rendering and look development.
I have experience with using alot of the major 3d and 2d tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Unreal 4, CryEngine, Unity, Vray, Mental Ray, Zbrush, After Effects, Premiere, Fume FX, Rayfire, Photoshop, and many others. I am also used to working with in-house tools at several of the studios I have worked at.
In 2012 two shows I worked on were nominated for awards.
Planet Dinosaur and Inside The Human Body.
Planet Dinosaur was nominated for a Bafta, and Inside The Human Body was nominated for a Bafta, an Emmy and won a Visual Effects Society Award and both won the New York Festivals gold medal. A full list of award and nominations are under the Awards section of this site.
Alongside my current employment as senior lighting artist at Jagex Games I'm also experimenting with Virtual Reality using the Oculus Rift.
